WHAT WE OFFER

Dorset Wellbeing provides a flexible, person-centred approach which recognises the diverse needs and strengths of each young person. We believe that learning should be as unique as the individual, with a focus on practical skills, emotional growth and building the confidence needed to thrive in life.

Alternative provision service

A placement at our alternative education provision can range from one to three days per week, tailored around the individual interests, strengths and needs of each young person.

We provide free transport to and from site as standard for our young people.

We can start our work as an outreach service - working in the home or a local public space, of a young person, with the hope that they will eventually feel confident enough to join us at one of our unique sites.

Where helpful, we provide support and tuition in Maths and English, enabling young people to work towards Level 2 vocational qualifications by drawing on naturally occurring evidence from their day to day sessions.

Tuition, qualifications and learning support

We can provide a flexible outcome-focused service, rooted in personalised mentoring and coaching. This ensures our sessions help children and young people gain vital subject knowledge and study skills, while building confidence, resilience and self belief. We encourage independence of thought while aiming to build self discipline, responsibility and accountability.

Vocational education and employability coaching

We help to prepare and encourage young people to return to formal education and/or employment. We do this through personalised learning activities, characterised by nurturing relationships, which enable the development of key life skills and the attainment of nationally recognised qualifications.

Intensive outreach support in the community

We work with our young people, and their associated professionals, to design and deliver personalised therapeutic support for those with complex and persistent SEMH and/or SEND needs. These strategic interventions are often more successful when it also includes support for the needs of siblings, carers, parents and/or other family members. This service is led by experienced and qualified therapists.
