Learners graduate from Tractor Operators course with a fitting memento
As a culmination of a successful academic year of LANTRA training, two young people on our Pathways to Adulthood programme have completed their LANTRA Tractor Operators Course.
Under the guidance of a certified LANTRA instructor, John, they developed their knowledge and confidence through a combination of classroom learning and practical exercises. Over the course of three days, they covered safe tractor operation, health and safety, hitching and unhitching a range of implements, front loader operation, reversing with trailers in a variety of scenarios, and the importance of safe PTO (power take-off) use.
Both young people showed excellent commitment throughout the course, demonstrating increasing confidence, resilience and practical ability each day. It was fantastic to see them supporting one another, working safely as operator and banksman, and completing every practical challenge set by their instructor.
A huge thank you to John for delivering such an engaging and supportive course, and congratulations to the new graduates for the enthusiasm, hard work and positive attitude they demonstrated throughout.
As a fitting end to the course, John presented each of them with a personalised tractor number plate displaying their CB radio call sign as a memento of their achievement.
Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to Manor Farm, Dewlish, for hosting a fantastic example of vocational learning in action.
